GOD’S SANCTUARY AND DOMINION

Psalm 114 :1-8

1 When Israel went out of Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language, 2 Judah became His sanctuary, And Israel His dominion. 3 The sea saw it and fled; Jordan turned back. 4 The mountains skipped like rams, The little hills like lambs. 5 What ails you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, that you turned back? 6 O mountains, that you skipped like rams? O little hills, like lambs? 7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob, 8 Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of waters.

As Israel moved with God their enemies were defeated, they came out of slavery and all nature yielded to their movement.

When the church moves with Jesus demons flee, souls are set free and nature itself obeys our word.

Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Judah was God’s sanctuary.  God dwelt among the people of Judah.  He has been called the Lion of the tribe of Judah.  When Israel, as a nation,  trusted God their enemies became prey to Him.  By contrast, when Israel went to war in their own power, they were badly defeated.  When they went to war led by Jehovah Nissi they took dominion over their enemies.

Today each believer is a temple of the Holy Spirit.  We, as individual believers, have the Holy Spirit joined as one to our spirits (1 Corinthians 6:17, 19, 20).  We have nothing to fear.  Where the Spirit of God is, Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, is.  When believers unite to accomplish the purposes of God as revealed by His Spirit, the gates of Hell cannot prevail against us.  We become God’s force for dominion wherever He leads us.  It’s important to remember that our dominion as God’s people is for His glory.  But it starts as Christ takes up residence within us and among us.  For it is truly Christ in us the hope of glory.

Colossians 1:27 . . . Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Matthew 16:18 “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

1 Timothy 3:15 . . . the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
